Supporting the Dharma

Dana Paramita (generosity) is one of the core practices in Buddhism, and we see it as an activity that helps each of us to awaken. Charitable giving affirms our place in the wider community. It helps us to be aware of, and move beyond, our narrow ideas of self-interest. By making a donation to The Chicago Zen Meditation Community, you are helping the practice of many beings.
In our Sangha, we do not set a cost to attend our regular meetings or sesshins. Instead, we ask for a donation that will help us to offer the Dharma. Essentially, we ask you to give, not to purchase anything for yourself, but so that others can also practice. We don't specify an amount. We simply hope that you will be generous to whatever extent you can.
Donations can be made at any time by Chase QuickPay or Zelle to support@zenchicago.org, or via PayPal by clicking on the "Donate" button below. Checks can be mailed to:

We are deeply grateful for your generosity.
Please put your email in the "memo" section on Zelle or PayPal, or send us a separate email, so we can send you a charitable gift acknowledgement for tax purposes.
