The Chicago Zen Meditation Community is a Soto Zen Buddhist group led by Rev. Myoshi Thomson. We offer three meditation opportunities every week: Monday evenings in Lincoln Park and Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in the Loop. Each meeting is an opportunity to practice zazen (Zen meditation) and to participate in a dharma talk and discussion.
Our meditations will start promptly at the designated time, so please arrive a few minutes early to be sure you do not disrupt the meditation. If you are new to Buddhist study and practice, we ask that you attend the zazen instruction we offer before our Monday meeting.

This weekly meeting of zazen, chanting, and dharma talk is open to all. Zazen instruction for newcomers to Buddhist study and practice is offered at 6:40 pm every week. Meditation starts promptly at 7:00 pm.

Thursday Zen Study Group

In this meeting, we practice zazen and study some of the classic zen texts. Because of its seminar-like nature, this group is best for people who can commit to attending regularly.
